Yaki Udon
Yaki Udon is a delicious Japanese stir-fried noodle dish made with udon noodles, vegetables, and a savory sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 2
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Mirin - 1 tablespoon
- Oyster sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Green onions - 4, sliced
- Cabbage - 1 cup, shredded
- Bell pepper - 1, thinly sliced
- Carrot - 1, julienned
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Udon noodles - 8 ounces
Let's Get Started
- Cook the udon noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add garlic and ginger, and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add carrot, bell pepper, cabbage, and green onions. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, mirin, sesame oil, salt, and pepper.
- Push the vegetables to one side of the pan and add the cooked udon noodles to the other side.
- Pour the sauce over the noodles and vegetables. Toss everything together until well coated in the sauce.
- Continue stir-frying for another 2-3 minutes until the noodles are heated through.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
