Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. Cut the Gac fruit in half and scoop out the seeds and pulp. Set aside.
  2. Wash the glutinous rice thoroughly and soak it in water for 4 hours or overnight.
  3. Drain the rice and steam it for 30 minutes, or until cooked and sticky.
  4. While the rice is steaming, blend the Gac fruit pulp in a blender until smooth.
  5. In a saucepan, combine the Gac fruit puree, coconut milk, sugar, and salt. Cook over low heat until the mixture thickens slightly.
  6. Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a large bowl and pour the Gac fruit mixture over it. Mix well to evenly coat the rice.
  7. Serve the Xoi Gac in individual bowls, garnished with toasted sesame seeds and shredded coconut.
