Ingredients - Serves 4
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Unsalted butter - 1/2 cup, melted
- Milk - 1 3/4 cups
- Eggs - 2
- Sugar - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Baking powder - 2 teaspoons
- All-purpose flour - 2 cups
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs. Add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are okay.
- Preheat a waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Pour the batter onto the hot waffle iron, using about 1/2 cup of batter for each waffle. Close the lid and cook until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes.
- Carefully remove the waffle from the iron and repeat with the remaining batter.
- Serve the waffles warm with your favorite toppings such as maple syrup, fresh fruits, or whipped cream.
