Let's Get Started

  1. In a saucepan, combine the honey and sugar. Heat over medium heat until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the egg white until stiff peaks form.
  3. Slowly pour the hot honey mixture into the egg white, while continuously beating.
  4. Continue to beat the mixture until it becomes thick and glossy.
  5. Fold in the toasted almonds.
  6. Line a baking dish with one sheet of wafer paper.
  7. Pour the almond mixture into the dish and spread it evenly.
  8. Cover the mixture with the second sheet of wafer paper and press down firmly.
  9. Let the turron cool completely before cutting it into squares.
