Turkish Pizza
Also known as Lahmacun, this thin, crispy pizza is topped with a flavorful mixture of minced meat, vegetables, and herbs.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Lemon wedges - For serving
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Parsley - 1/2 cup, finely chopped
- Red bell pepper - 1, finely chopped
- Tomatoes - 2, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1, finely chopped
- Ground lamb or beef - 1/2 pound
- Pizza dough - 1 pound
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 500°F (260°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside.
- Divide the pizza dough into 4 equal pieces and roll each one out on a floured surface to a thin circle.
- In a bowl, combine the ground meat, onion, garlic, tomatoes, bell pepper, parsley, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper.
- Spread the meat mixture evenly over the pizza dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Carefully transfer the pizzas to the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet.
- Bake for about 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the meat is cooked through.
- Drizzle with olive oil and serve with lemon wedges.
