  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan.
  2. In a saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the ground almonds.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the egg yolks until they are light and fluffy.
  5. Gradually add the almond mixture to the egg yolks, stirring constantly.
  6. Stir in the melted butter.
  7. Pour the mixture into the prepared cake pan.
  8. Bake for 45 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
