Tomato Soup with Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients - Serves 4
- Cheddar cheese - 8 slices
- Bread - 8 slices
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Chicken or vegetable broth - 2 cups
- Tomatoes - 28 oz can, crushed
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1 medium, chopped
- Butter - 4 tablespoons
Let's Get Started
- Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the onion and garlic and cook until the onion is soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the crushed tomatoes, broth, sugar, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
