Toffee Nut Popcorn
A sweet and crunchy treat, this toffee nut popcorn is perfect for snacking on during movie nights or parties.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Mixed nuts - 1 cup
- Baking soda - 1/2 teaspoon
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Corn syrup - 1/4 cup
- Brown sugar - 1 cup
- Butter - 1/2 cup
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Popcorn kernels - 1/2 cup
Let's Get Started
- In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil. Add the popcorn kernels and cover the pot. Cook until all the kernels have popped, then remove from heat.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter. Add the brown sugar, corn syrup, and salt. Bring to a boil while stirring consistently.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and baking soda.
- Pour the toffee mixture over the popcorn. Add the mixed nuts and stir until all the popcorn is coated.
- Spread the popcorn out on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Allow to cool before serving.
