Tod Man Pla
Tod Man Pla is a traditional Thai fish cake made with fresh fish, red curry paste, and aromatic herbs.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Cucumber slices - For serving
- Sweet chili sauce - For serving
- Vegetable oil - For frying
- Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
- Egg - 1
- Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Green beans - 1/4 cup, finely chopped
- Kaffir lime leaves - 4 leaves, finely chopped
- Red curry paste - 2 tablespoons
- White fish fillets - 500g
Let's Get Started
- In a food processor, blend the fish fillets until smooth.
- Transfer the fish paste to a mixing bowl and add the red curry paste, kaffir lime leaves, green beans, fish sauce, egg, and cornstarch. Mix well to combine.
- Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Take a spoonful of the fish mixture and shape it into a small patty. Repeat with the remaining mixture.
- Carefully place the fish cakes into the hot oil and fry until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove the fish cakes from the pan and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- Serve the Tod Man Pla with sweet chili sauce and cucumber slices.
