Teriyaki Tempeh
A delicious vegan dish, this Teriyaki Tempeh is marinated in homemade teriyaki sauce and sautéed until crispy and flavorful.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Water - 1/4 cup
- Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Brown sugar - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce - 1/4 cup
- Tempeh - 8 ounces
Let's Get Started
- Cut the tempeh into cubes and set aside.
- In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, cornstarch, and water to make the teriyaki sauce.
- Marinate the tempeh in the sauce for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add the marinated tempeh and cook until crispy and browned on all sides, about 10 minutes.
- Pour the remaining sauce over the tempeh and cook for another 2-3 minutes, until the sauce has thickened.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
