Teriyaki Chicken
This classic Japanese teriyaki chicken is made with soy sauce, honey, and ginger.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Green onions - 2, thinly sliced
- Water - 1 tablespoon
- Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Rice vinegar - 1/4 cup
- Honey - 1/4 cup
- Soy sauce - 1/2 cup
- Boneless, skinless chicken breasts - 4, cut into bite-sized pieces
Let's Get Started
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger.
- In a large bowl, toss the chicken with half of the teriyaki sauce. Let marinate for 10 minutes.
- In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and water. Add to the remaining teriyaki sauce and whisk to combine.
- Add the sauce to the skillet and cook until thickened, about 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve with rice and steamed vegetables.
