Tau Huay
Tau Huay, also known as tofu pudding, is a popular Chinese dessert made from soy milk.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Pandan leaves - 2 leaves
- Water - 1/4 cup
- Sugar - 1/2 cup
- Gypsum powder - 1 teaspoon
- Soy milk - 4 cups
Let's Get Started
- In a small bowl, dissolve the gypsum powder in water and set aside.
- In a saucepan, heat the soy milk over medium heat.
- Add the sugar and pandan leaves to the soy milk and stir until the sugar is dissolved.
- Once the soy milk is hot but not boiling, remove the pandan leaves.
- Slowly pour in the dissolved gypsum powder mixture while stirring the soy milk gently.
- Continue stirring for about 1 minute to ensure the mixture is well combined.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and let it cool for 5 minutes.
- Pour the mixture into individual serving bowls or molds.
- Allow the tau huay to cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.
- Serve chilled and enjoy!
