Ingredients - Serves 6

Let's Get Started

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a 9-inch oven-safe skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Add the sugar and stir until it dissolves and turns golden brown, about 5 minutes.
  4. Remove the skillet from heat and carefully arrange the apple halves, cut side down, in the caramel.
  5. Return the skillet to medium heat and cook for another 5 minutes, allowing the apples to soften slightly.
  6. Place the puff pastry sheet over the apples, tucking the edges down into the skillet.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove the skillet from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
  9. Carefully invert the tart onto a serving plate, allowing the caramelized apples to be on top.
  10. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
