Tarte aux Figues

Ingredients - Serves 8

Let's Get Started

  1. In a food processor, combine the all-purpose flour, cold cubed butter, granulated sugar, and salt. Pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Add the beaten egg and pulse until the dough comes together. Shape the dough into a disk, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  4. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the chilled dough into a circle large enough to fit a 9-inch tart pan. Press the dough into the pan and trim any excess.
  5. In a bowl, combine the almond flour, powdered sugar, softened butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  6. Spread the almond cream evenly over the tart crust.
  7. Arrange the sliced figs on top of the almond cream, pressing them slightly into the cream.
  8. Drizzle the honey over the figs and sprinkle with sliced almonds.
  9. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the almond cream is set.
  10. Allow the tart to cool before serving. Serve at room temperature.
