Fig and Almond Tart
This delicious fig and almond tart is a perfect combination of sweet and nutty flavors.
Ingredients - Serves 8
- Sliced almonds - 1/4 cup
- Honey - 2 tablespoons
- Fresh figs - 8, sliced
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Egg - 1
- Unsalted butter - 1/2 cup, cold and cubed
- Granulated sugar - 1/2 cup
- Almond flour - 1/2 cup
- All-purpose flour - 1 1/2 cups
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a food processor, combine the all-purpose flour, almond flour, granulated sugar, and cold cubed butter. Pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract to the food processor and pulse until the dough comes together.
- Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and roll it out into a circle that will fit into a tart pan.
- Place the rolled-out dough into the tart pan and press it gently to fit the shape of the pan. Trim any excess dough.
- Arrange the sliced figs on top of the dough in a decorative pattern.
- Drizzle the honey over the figs and sprinkle the sliced almonds on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the figs are soft.
- Allow the tart to cool before serving. Serve it as is or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
