Tarta de Manzana
A traditional Spanish apple tart, perfect for dessert or a sweet treat with coffee.
Ingredients - Serves 8
- Apricot jam - 1/4 cup
- Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Apples - 4, peeled and thinly sliced
- Egg - 1
- Sugar - 1/4 cup
- Butter - 1/2 cup, cold and cut into small pieces
- All-purpose flour - 1 1/2 cups
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, butter, sugar, and egg. Mix until a dough forms.
- Press the dough into the bottom and up the sides of a tart pan.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- In a large bowl, toss the apple slices with the lemon juice and cinnamon.
- Arrange the apple slices on top of the dough in the tart pan.
- Bake for 45 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the crust is golden.
- In a small saucepan, heat the apricot jam until it is liquid, then brush it over the hot tart.
- Allow the tart to cool before serving.
