Ingredients - Serves 4
- Salt - To taste
- Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Ginger powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon, roasted and ground
- Water - 2 cups
- Sugar - 1 cup
- Tamarind pulp - 1 cup
Let's Get Started
- Soak the tamarind pulp in water for about 30 minutes.
- After soaking, mash the pulp and strain to remove seeds and fibers.
- In a pan, add the tamarind pulp, sugar, and water. Cook on medium heat.
- Stir continuously until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Add the cumin powder, ginger powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Cook the mixture until it thickens to a sauce-like consistency.
- Let it cool down. Your Tamarind Chutney is ready to serve.
