Swiss Chard and Tomato Gratin
This delicious Swiss chard and tomato gratin is a perfect side dish or vegetarian main course.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Parmesan cheese - 1/2 cup, grated
- Breadcrumbs - 1 cup
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Tomatoes - 4 medium, sliced
- Swiss chard - 1 bunch, stems removed and leaves chopped
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the Swiss chard and cook until wilted, about 5 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- In a greased baking dish, layer half of the Swiss chard mixture.
- Top with half of the sliced tomatoes.
- Sprinkle half of the breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese over the tomatoes.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining Swiss chard, tomatoes, breadcrumbs, and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the gratin is bubbly.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
