Suon Nuong
Suon Nuong is a popular Vietnamese dish featuring marinated grilled pork chops with a delicious balance of sweet, savory, and tangy flavors.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Fresh cilantro - For garnish
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Lime juice - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Honey - 2 tablespoons
- Fish sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Lemongrass - 2 stalks, finely chopped
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Pork chops - 4 pieces
Let's Get Started
- In a bowl, combine the minced garlic, lemongrass, fish sauce, honey, soy sauce, lime juice, vegetable oil, salt, and pepper to make the marinade.
- Place the pork chops in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Make sure the chops are well coated. Marinate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Remove the pork chops from the marinade and shake off any excess. Reserve the marinade for basting.
- Grill the pork chops for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until cooked through and nicely charred. Baste with the reserved marinade while grilling.
- Remove the pork chops from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
- Serve the Suon Nuong hot, garnished with fresh cilantro. Enjoy with steamed rice and your favorite Vietnamese dipping sauce.
