Stuffed Shells
Delicious stuffed pasta shells filled with a creamy ricotta and spinach mixture, topped with marinara sauce and melted cheese.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Fresh basil - For garnish
- Mozzarella cheese - 1 cup, shredded
- Marinara sauce - 2 cups
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Egg - 1
- Parmesan cheese - 1 cup, grated
- Spinach - 2 cups, cooked and chopped
- Ricotta cheese - 2 cups
- Jumbo pasta shells - 24 shells
Let's Get Started
- Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, cooked spinach, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
- Stuff each cooked pasta shell with the ricotta and spinach mixture and place them in the baking dish.
- Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the stuffed shells.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
- Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
