Spinach and Feta Pie
This delicious spinach and feta pie is a savory dish made with flaky pastry, spinach, feta cheese, and aromatic herbs.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Butter - 1/4 cup (60g), melted
- Phyllo pastry sheets - 8 sheets
- Dill - 1 tablespoon, chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Milk - 1/2 cup (120ml)
- Eggs - 3
- Feta cheese - 6 oz (170g), crumbled
- Frozen spinach - 10 oz (280g), thawed and drained
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, mix together the spinach, feta cheese, eggs, milk, onion, garlic, dill, salt, and pepper.
- Brush a 9-inch (23cm) pie dish with melted butter.
- Layer 4 sheets of phyllo pastry in the pie dish, brushing each sheet with melted butter.
- Spread the spinach and feta mixture evenly over the phyllo pastry.
- Layer the remaining 4 sheets of phyllo pastry on top, brushing each sheet with melted butter.
- Fold the excess phyllo pastry over the edges of the pie dish and brush with melted butter.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the phyllo pastry is golden brown and crispy.
- Allow the pie to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
