Spatzle
Spatzle is a traditional German egg noodle dish that is easy to make and delicious to eat.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Chopped parsley - 2 tablespoons
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Nutmeg - 1/4 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Milk - 1/2 cup
- Eggs - 4
- All-purpose flour - 2 cups
Let's Get Started
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, eggs, milk, salt, and nutmeg. Mix until a smooth batter forms.
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Using a spatzle maker or a colander with large holes, press the batter through into the boiling water. Cook for about 2 minutes, or until the spatzle float to the surface.
- Using a slotted spoon, transfer the cooked spatzle to a colander to drain.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the cooked spatzle and sauté for 3-4 minutes, or until lightly browned.
- Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve hot.
