Spanish Churros with Chocolate Dip

Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. In a saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Remove from heat and add all-purpose flour. Stir until the mixture forms a ball.
  3. Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Pipe the dough into long strips directly into the hot oil, using scissors to cut the dough.
  6. Fry the churros until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
  7. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until hot but not boiling.
  8. Place the chopped dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl and pour the hot cream over it. Let it sit for a minute, then stir until smooth and creamy.
  9. Serve the churros warm with the chocolate dip on the side.
  10. Enjoy!
