Chocolate Ganache Tart with Hazelnut Crust
A rich and decadent dessert featuring a smooth chocolate ganache filling and a crunchy hazelnut crust.
Ingredients - Serves 8
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Heavy cream - 1 cup
- Dark chocolate - 8 ounces, chopped
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1/4 cup
- Unsalted butter - 1/2 cup, melted
- All-purpose flour - 1 cup
- Hazelnuts - 1 cup, toasted and skinned
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- In a food processor, pulse the hazelnuts until finely ground.
- Add the flour, butter, sugar, and salt to the food processor and pulse until combined.
- Press the hazelnut mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a tart pan.
- Bake the crust for 10-12 minutes, or until golden. Let cool.
- Place the chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl.
- In a small saucepan, bring the heavy cream to a simmer over medium heat.
- Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and let sit for 1 minute, then stir until smooth.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Pour the chocolate ganache into the cooled hazelnut crust.
- Refrigerate the tart for at least 2 hours, or until set.
- Slice and serve.
