Spanakopita

Ingredients - Serves 6

Let's Get Started

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and garlic and cook until soft.
  3. Add the spinach to the skillet and cook until wilted. Remove from heat and let cool.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the spinach mixture, feta cheese, and beaten eggs.
  5. Brush a baking dish with some of the melted butter. Lay a sheet of phyllo dough in the dish, and brush with more butter. Repeat with half of the phyllo sheets.
  6. Spread the spinach and cheese mixture over the phyllo dough.
  7. Top with the remaining phyllo sheets, brushing each one with butter as before.
  8. Bake for 45 minutes, or until the phyllo is golden brown and crispy.
