Soy Glazed Tofu Steaks

Ingredients - Serves 4
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Brown sugar - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce - 1/4 cup
- Extra-firm tofu - 1 block
Let's Get Started
- Press the tofu to remove excess water and cut into 1-inch thick steaks.
- In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil to make the marinade.
- Marinate the tofu steaks in the soy mixture for at least 30 minutes, or up to 24 hours for more flavor.
- Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat. Add the tofu steaks and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side, until golden and crispy.
- Drizzle the remaining marinade over the tofu and continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes, until the sauce has thickened.
