  1. Press the tofu to remove excess water and cut into 1-inch thick steaks.
  2. In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil to make the marinade.
  3. Marinate the tofu steaks in the soy mixture for at least 30 minutes, or up to 24 hours for more flavor.
  4. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat. Add the tofu steaks and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side, until golden and crispy.
  5. Drizzle the remaining marinade over the tofu and continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes, until the sauce has thickened.
