  1. In a large pot, cook the bacon over medium heat until crisp.
  2. Remove the bacon from the pot and set aside, leaving the bacon grease in the pot.
  3. Add the green beans to the pot and cook in the bacon grease for a few minutes until they start to soften.
  4. Add the garlic to the pot and cook for another minute.
  5. Add the chicken broth, salt, and pepper to the pot and bring to a simmer.
  6. Cover the pot and reduce the heat to low. Let the green beans cook for about 2 hours, or until they are very tender.
  7. Stir the cooked bacon into the green beans just before serving.
