  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Cut the tortillas into thin strips and spread them on a baking sheet.
  3. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until crispy and golden brown.
  4. In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
  5. Add the diced onion and minced garlic. Cook until the onion is translucent.
  6. Add the diced tomatoes, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for 5 minutes.
  7. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
