  1. Place the pork shoulder roast in the slow cooker.
  2. In a bowl, combine the barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, chicken broth, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, onion, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper. Pour the mixture over the pork.
  3. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 8 hours, or until the pork is tender and pulls apart easily with a fork.
  4. Remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it with two forks. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and stir it into the sauce.
  5. Serve the pulled pork on buns with coleslaw, if desired.
