Slow Cooker Pulled Pork
This slow cooker pulled pork recipe is extremely easy to make, but yields complex flavors and a tender, juicy texture.
Ingredients - Serves 8
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Thyme - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1, chopped
- Chili powder - 1 teaspoon
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Mustard - 1 tablespoon
- Brown sugar - 1/4 cup
- Chicken broth - 1/2 cup
- Apple cider vinegar - 1/2 cup
- Barbecue sauce - 1 cup
- Pork shoulder roast - 3 pounds
Let's Get Started
- Place the pork shoulder roast in the slow cooker.
- In a bowl, combine the barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, chicken broth, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, onion, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper. Pour the mixture over the pork.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 8 hours, or until the pork is tender and pulls apart easily with a fork.
- Remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it with two forks. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and stir it into the sauce.
