Sicilian Calzone

Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
  2. Roll out the pizza dough into a large circle.
  3. On one half of the dough, spread the ricotta cheese, leaving a border around the edge.
  4. Top the ricotta with the mozzarella, Parmesan, sausage, and spinach. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Fold the other half of the dough over the filling to form a half-moon shape. Pinch the edges to seal.
  6. Brush the top of the calzone with the beaten egg and a little olive oil.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the calzone is golden brown.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
