Sgabei

- Frying oil - As needed
- Mozzarella cheese - 200 grams, cut into small cubes
- Prosciutto - 200 grams, thinly sliced
- Bread dough - 500 grams
Let's Get Started
- Prepare the bread dough and let it rise for about 2 hours.
- Roll out the dough into a thin sheet and cut it into squares.
- Place a slice of prosciutto and a cube of mozzarella on each square.
- Fold the squares to enclose the filling and seal the edges well.
- Heat the oil in a deep fryer or large, deep saucepan.
- Fry the sgabei a few at a time, turning them as needed, until they are golden brown.
- Drain the sgabei on paper towels and sprinkle them with salt.
- Serve the sgabei hot, as an appetizer or snack.
