Sesame Seed Cake

Ingredients - Serves 8

Let's Get Started

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9-inch cake pan.
  2. Toast the sesame seeds in a dry skillet over medium heat until golden, about 5 minutes. Let cool.
  3. In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the butter and sugar until creamy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then the vanilla and honey.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Stir in the toasted sesame seeds.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
