Sesame Garlic Tempeh Stir Fry
A flavorful and protein-packed stir-fry dish featuring tempeh, vegetables, and a savory sesame garlic sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
- Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 1/4 cup
- Broccoli - 2 cups, chopped
- Red bell pepper - 1, sliced
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Sesame oil - 2 tablespoons
- Tempeh - 8 ounces, cubed
Let's Get Started
- Heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add the tempeh and cook until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the remaining sesame oil and the garlic. Cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the bell pepper and broccoli and stir-fry until tender, about 5 minutes.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, and cornstarch. Pour over the vegetables in the pan and stir to coat.
- Return the tempeh to the pan and stir to combine. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, until the sauce has thickened.
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.
