Rosemary Roasted Turkey

Let's Get Started

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F.
  2. Remove the giblets and neck from the turkey cavity.
  3. Rinse the turkey inside and out, then pat dry with paper towels.
  4. In a small bowl, combine the chopped rosemary, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Rub the rosemary mixture all over the turkey, including under the skin.
  6. Place the lemon slices and onion slices inside the turkey cavity.
  7. Tie the turkey legs together with kitchen twine.
  8. Place the turkey on a rack in a roasting pan.
  9. Pour the chicken broth into the bottom of the roasting pan.
  10. Cover the turkey loosely with foil.
  11. Roast the turkey for about 3 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  12. Remove the foil during the last 30 minutes of cooking to allow the skin to brown.
  13. Transfer the turkey to a cutting board and let it rest for 20 minutes before carving.
  14. Serve the rosemary roasted turkey with your favorite side dishes.
