Rosemary Roasted Turkey
This rosemary roasted turkey is a flavorful and juicy centerpiece for your holiday feast.
Ingredients - Serves 8
- Chicken broth - 2 cups
- Onion - 1, sliced
- Lemon - 1, sliced
- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 2 teaspoons
- Olive oil - 1/4 cup
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Fresh rosemary - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Whole turkey - 12 pounds
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 325°F.
- Remove the giblets and neck from the turkey cavity.
- Rinse the turkey inside and out, then pat dry with paper towels.
- In a small bowl, combine the chopped rosemary, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
- Rub the rosemary mixture all over the turkey, including under the skin.
- Place the lemon slices and onion slices inside the turkey cavity.
- Tie the turkey legs together with kitchen twine.
- Place the turkey on a rack in a roasting pan.
- Pour the chicken broth into the bottom of the roasting pan.
- Cover the turkey loosely with foil.
- Roast the turkey for about 3 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Remove the foil during the last 30 minutes of cooking to allow the skin to brown.
- Transfer the turkey to a cutting board and let it rest for 20 minutes before carving.
- Serve the rosemary roasted turkey with your favorite side dishes.
