Rodgrod Med Flode
Rodgrod med Flode is a traditional Danish dessert made with red berries and served with cream.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Whipping cream - 200ml
- Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
- Water - 500ml
- Sugar - 100g
- Red berries (strawberries, raspberries, or currants) - 500g
Let's Get Started
- Wash the red berries and remove any stems or leaves.
- In a saucepan, combine the red berries, sugar, and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes, or until the berries are soft and the liquid has thickened slightly.
- In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with a little water to make a slurry. Slowly pour the slurry into the saucepan while stirring continuously.
- Continue to cook for another 5 minutes, or until the mixture has thickened to a pudding-like consistency.
- Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes.
- In a separate bowl, whip the cream until soft peaks form. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Divide the rodgrod into serving bowls and top with a dollop of whipped cream.
- Serve warm or chilled.
