Queso Flameado
Queso Flameado is a delicious Mexican dish made with melted cheese and chorizo.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Cilantro - For garnish
- Tortillas - 4, for serving
- Cheddar cheese - 4 ounces, shredded
- Monterey jack cheese - 8 ounces, shredded
- Jalapeno - 1, seeded and diced
- Tomato - 1 medium, diced
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Bell pepper - 1 small, diced
- Onion - 1 small, diced
- Chorizo - 8 ounces, crumbled
Let's Get Started
- In a skillet, cook the chorizo over medium heat until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté the onion, bell pepper, and garlic until softened.
- Add the tomato and jalapeno to the skillet and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Return the cooked chorizo to the skillet and mix well with the vegetables.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- In an oven-safe dish, layer half of the shredded Monterey Jack cheese.
- Top with the chorizo and vegetable mixture.
- Cover with the remaining shredded Monterey Jack cheese and the shredded cheddar cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with cilantro and serve hot with tortillas for dipping.
