Prawn Fried Wontons
These crispy and flavorful prawn fried wontons make a delicious appetizer or snack.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Sweet chili sauce - For serving
- Vegetable oil - For frying
- Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Green onions - 2, finely chopped
- Wonton wrappers - 24 pieces
- Prawns - 250 grams, peeled and deveined
Let's Get Started
- In a food processor, pulse the prawns, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, and cornstarch until well combined.
- Place a spoonful of the prawn mixture in the center of each wonton wrapper.
- Brush the edges of the wonton wrappers with water, then fold them in half to form a triangle. Press the edges to seal.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350°F (180°C).
- Fry the wontons in batches for about 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Serve the prawn fried wontons hot with sweet chili sauce for dipping.
