Petits Fours

Ingredients - Serves 24

Let's Get Started

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a square baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool completely.
  8. Once cooled, cut the cake into small squares or rectangles.
  9. In separate bowls, mix the powdered sugar with a few drops of food coloring to create different colored glazes.
  10. Dip each petit four into the glaze, allowing the excess to drip off. Place on a wire rack to set.
  11. Decorate with sprinkles while the glaze is still wet.
  12. Allow the petits fours to dry completely before serving.
