Peixada
Peixada is a traditional Brazilian fish stew, made with a variety of fish and seafood, coconut milk, tomatoes, onions, garlic, and coriander.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Coriander - 1 bunch, chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Onions - 2, chopped
- Tomatoes - 2, chopped
- Coconut milk - 1 can
- Shrimp - 200 grams
- White fish fillets - 500 grams
Let's Get Started
- Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the onions and garlic and cook until the onions are soft and golden, about 10 minutes.
- Add the tomatoes and cook until they start to break down, about 5 minutes.
- Add the fish and shrimp and cook until they are just starting to turn opaque, about 5 minutes.
- Add the coconut milk, coriander, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Serve the peixada hot, garnished with extra coriander.
