Pasta Carbonara
A classic Italian pasta dish made with spaghetti, eggs, pancetta, and Parmesan cheese.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Fresh parsley - For garnish
- Salt - To taste
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Parmesan cheese - 1 cup, grated
- Eggs - 2
- Pancetta - 4 ounces, diced
- Spaghetti - 12 ounces
Let's Get Started
- Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, cook the pancetta over medium heat until crispy. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, Parmesan cheese, black pepper, and a pinch of salt.
- Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet with the pancetta and toss to combine.
- Remove the skillet from heat and pour the egg mixture over the spaghetti. Quickly toss to coat the pasta evenly.
- The heat from the pasta will cook the eggs, creating a creamy sauce. If needed, you can return the skillet to low heat for a minute or two, stirring constantly, to ensure the eggs are fully cooked.
- Serve the pasta carbonara hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
