Pasta al Forno is a classic Italian baked pasta dish. It's hearty, cheesy, and perfect for a family dinner.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Basil - A handful, chopped
- Parmesan cheese - 1 cup, grated
- Mozzarella cheese - 2 cups, shredded
- Tomato sauce - 2 cups
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Pasta - 500 grams
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Add the tomato sauce, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- In a large baking dish, combine the cooked pasta, tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, half of the Parmesan cheese, and basil.
- Top the pasta with the remaining Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 20-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let the pasta cool for a few minutes before serving.
