Pakora
Pakora is a popular Indian fried snack made with chickpea flour, various spices, and an assortment of vegetables.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Vegetable oil - For deep frying
- Spinach - 1 cup, chopped
- Onion - 1, thinly sliced
- Potato - 1, thinly sliced
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Turmeric - 1/2 teaspoon
- Water - 1/2 cup
- Chickpea flour - 1 cup
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, mix together the chickpea flour, water, turmeric, red chili powder, and salt to make a smooth batter.
- Add the sliced potato, onion, and chopped spinach to the batter and mix well to ensure all the vegetables are coated.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
- Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove the pakoras with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with your favorite chutney or sauce.
