Osmania Biscuits
Osmania Biscuits are popular tea biscuits from Hyderabad, India. They are sweet, salty and a perfect snack to enjoy with a cup of tea.
Ingredients - Serves 20
- Milk - 2-3 tablespoons
- Ghee - 1/2 cup
- Cardamom powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- Baking powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Powdered sugar - 1/2 cup
- Custard powder - 1/4 cup
- All-purpose flour - 1 cup
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 180°C and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix together the flour, custard powder, powdered sugar, salt, baking powder, and cardamom powder.
- Add the ghee to the flour mixture and mix until it resembles breadcrumbs.
- Add milk little by little and knead into a soft dough.
- Roll the dough into a 1/4 inch thick sheet and cut into round shapes using a cookie cutter.
- Place the cut biscuits on the prepared tray and bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let the biscuits cool completely before serving.
