Let's Get Started

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes.
  3. Add the sausage chunks to the skillet and cook until browned on all sides.
  4. Add the garlic to the skillet and cook for another minute.
  5. Sprinkle the flour over the sausage and onions and stir to coat.
  6. Slowly pour in the chicken broth, stirring constantly. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
  7. Stir in the heavy cream, thyme, salt, and pepper. Remove the skillet from the heat.
  8. Pour the sausage and onion mixture into a casserole dish. Top with the grated cheddar cheese.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
