Onion and Bacon Pizza

Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it preheats.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and cook until they are soft and caramelized, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, cook the bacon until it is crispy. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness. If you're using a pizza stone, transfer the dough to a pizza peel or an inverted baking sheet dusted with flour.
  5. Spread the caramelized onions evenly over the dough, leaving a border for the crust. Top with the cooked bacon and shredded mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle with the grated Parmesan cheese.
  6. Transfer the pizza to the preheated oven (or onto the pizza stone, if using) and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
  7. Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Top with fresh basil leaves, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Slice and serve.
