Naiman Sharga
Naiman Sharga is a traditional Mongolian dish made with lamb, vegetables, and spices.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Fresh cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Water - 4 cups
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Coriander - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Potatoes - 4 medium, diced
- Carrots - 2 medium, sliced
- Onions - 2 large, chopped
- Lamb - 1 kg, cut into cubes
Let's Get Started
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the lamb cubes and cook until browned on all sides.
- Add the onions, carrots, potatoes, garlic, and ginger. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the cumin, coriander, salt, and pepper. Stir well to coat the ingredients.
- Pour in the water and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 2 hours, or until the lamb is tender.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
- Serve hot with steamed rice or bread.
