  2. Cook the macaroni according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  3. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the mushrooms and cook until they are soft and browned.
  4. Stir in the flour until it is fully incorporated with the butter and mushrooms.
  5. Slowly add the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture is smooth and thickened.
  6. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the Swiss cheese until it is melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
