Milkfish Congee

Ingredients - Serves 4
- Fried garlic - For garnish
- Green onions - For garnish
- Water - 6 cups
- Pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Ginger - 1 thumb-sized piece, sliced
- Onion - 1 large, chopped
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Rice - 1 cup, washed
- Milkfish - 1 whole, cleaned and sliced
Let's Get Started
- In a large pot, sauté the garlic, onion, and ginger until fragrant.
- Add the rice and sauté for a few more minutes until the rice is well coated with the sautéed mixture.
- Add the water, fish sauce, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
- Once boiling, lower the heat and let it simmer until the rice is fully cooked and has a porridge-like consistency.
- Add the milkfish slices and cook for another 10 minutes.
- Adjust the seasoning if needed.
- Serve hot, garnished with green onions and fried garlic.
