Mexican Chorizo
Spicy and flavorful Mexican chorizo made with ground pork and a blend of spices.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
- Vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cayenne pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Ground coriander - 1/2 teaspoon
- Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
- Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Smoked paprika - 2 teaspoons
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Ground pork - 1 lb
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, minced garlic, smoked paprika, ground cumin, dried oregano, ground coriander, cayenne pepper, salt, black pepper, vinegar, and vegetable oil.
- Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld together.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the chorizo mixture.
- Cook, breaking up the meat with a spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 10-12 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let it cool slightly before serving.
- Serve the Mexican chorizo in tacos, burritos, or as a topping for nachos.
