Medisterpølse
Medisterpølse is a traditional Danish sausage made with ground pork and spices.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Nutmeg - 1/4 teaspoon
- Allspice - 1/2 teaspoon
- Pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Milk - 1/4 cup
- Breadcrumbs - 1/2 cup
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Ground pork - 1 lb
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, milk, salt, pepper, allspice, and nutmeg. Mix well.
- Shape the mixture into sausages, about 4 inches long and 1 inch thick.
- Heat the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sausages and cook until browned on all sides, about 10 minutes.
- Reduce the heat to low and continue cooking for another 15 minutes, or until the sausages are cooked through.
- Serve the medisterpølse hot with your choice of side dishes, such as potatoes and sauerkraut.
